Spectroscope
Spectroscope application
Spectroscope is designed to be used to observe the following spectra:
1,Continuous spectrum of the light emits from an incandescent solid and/or liquid matter.
2,Bright line spectrum of the light emits from incandescent metallic vapour or gas under usual atmospheric pressure.
3,Absorption spectrum of white light emits from a source of high temperature when pass through incandescent vapour or gas under lower temperature.
4,Solar spectrum.
Spectroscope configuration
Spectroscope is composed of the following components:
1,A collimator with an adjustable slit, the lens of which has a focus length of 130mm.
2,A telescope contains a Huygens eyepiece with two lenses. The focus length of its objective is 130mm.
3,A scale tube – another collimator which carries a fine photographic scale at one end. The focus length of its lenses is 118mm.
4,An equilateral triangular prism made of flint-glass.
On the tripod is a prism table with a collimator fixed on it at the minimum deviation of the prism. The scale tube can be turned around a fixing screw and the telescope can be moved along the edge of the prism table. Both can be fixed with screws. The prism is mounted at the centre of the prism table by a clamp under a cover.

i get what they were trying to say in lucky day but perhaps a paramilitary organization was not the best to use as an infallible group
#doctor who#dw#dr who#15th doctor#fifteenth doctor#lucky day#like i get what was being said#but perhaps treating a particularly militarized organization as a victim that can do not wrong is not the best optics#it’s not a black and white issue but the narrative kind of treats it like it is#I think that’s my issue with with pete mctighe’s writing he has a tendency to highlight issues with organizations as individual one-offs#he never writes them being recognized as more systemic#i love a good morally grey kate#but then having public distrust of a militarized organization being treated as the wrong is a bit iffy#this is just a summation of my some thoughts not a thesis lol

hey sending you another ask since i was apparently eaten in the womb (your inbox), i just made a new post relaying dybowski's abuses with updated info from former HSE students/IPL members I've been working with and they hope it gains traction, you can share it if you're interested (warning, it's a lot of text) thanks for all the support!!
you were indeed eaten in the womb of my inbox i was checking in emails to see if the asks had showed up and i was about to screenshot yours and reply like that when you sent this one ^ so. perfect timing. mr electric and so on
#i've said it in tags of that one i have no recollection of a testimony of meethos' so if it is available i'd say linking it is a safe move#+ would be a big deal since meethos is a beloved and known artist who's been with IPL for its most Iconique moments.#there's been a lot of hearsay over dybowski's behaviors (including some that's made it to my ears) and if meethos#doesn't have a public testimony we need to make sure they're not put in danger/questioned for stuff they might not be ready to share#i assume there is smth and it just hasn't made it to me eyes. i can't navigate the russophone internet very well due to Don't Speak It#allô (answers)#faetthorn#<- also i'm sorry i keep putting seven trillion asterisks to your posts/my replies to them but especially in the optic of ''we're hoping#this makes it to court'' one has to be reallll careful. and you don't necessarily know how to tread this and neither do i that's because#it shouldn't come down to The Bloggers to dabble in law like this guy should have the court system on his ass already. but alas. alas!!!

Hey there. Decided to follow since I couldn't directly reply to your comment on another post. I wanted to tell you that I agree, your comment adds some valuable nuance. While both parties are not equal, Democrats fail so often to take meaningful actions in office that would actually prevent this sort of terror. I sometimes feel like I must be crazy among my fellow lefties because I'm still so angry at Obama. We spent 8 years watching our country slide towards dictatorship under the Bush regime. Election day 2008 was such a magical experience, so full of hope; finally, a Democrat, was here to save the day and close Guantanamo, reunite families, and burn down that accursed Patriot Act. And then it was disappointment after disappointment as everyone else just shrugged it off as "well at least Bush is gone" and "you can't expect him to be perfect." I can't be the only one who's looking at the Trump 2.0 era with a resentment towards Democratic administrations for allowing so much power to pool into the presidential office. Would Trump be half as threatening without the Bush era surveillance powers that Obama and Biden had a chance to dismantle before it fell into "the wrong hands". I agree with you. They helped set us up for this. and we'll vote for them again just to avoid the scary Republicans.
Thank you so much for taking the time to send this ask and find a way to reply. It means a lot to me that someone else sees what I'm seeing and saw value in what I had to say - even if I couldn't fight off the frustrated tone at the end.
I swear, I have been paying attention and have tried to understand the world for essentially my entire life, and have been "organized" for all my adult life. And I'm realizing the thing that scares me and pisses me off the most is disengagement and the casual cruelty/condescension that comes with it. I'm so afraid we will learn nothing.
Like, people need DESPERATELY to WAKE THE FUCK UP. I know the phrase "both parties are the same" is pithy and also pisses people off, but the outcome of the 2024 election cannot be our fixation and main hang-up right now. I cannot emphasize enough, even if Trump were not elected, the USA would still be in extremely rapid decline, our federal govt amazingly corrupt and decompensating, and everyday people suffering.
There IS a way to escape this downward spiral and it is NOT party politics. Or, rather, it's a variety of strategies (where party politics may play an early role) and the end goal is to force permanent changes to our processes and systems and ultimately escape this crab bucket of the two-party system. (E.g. we have had decades to fix the electoral college and make 1 person:1 vote a reality; we have had decades to institute ranked choice voting...) This is what people might call "slow work"; however annoying that phrasing might sound, it's true.
And yet, so many people only seem to care when a "red" is in office. I don't know how to shake people out of it. The best I can scramble for is all the reminders of how Biden (and Obama) dropped the ball and fucked up, didn't take their role as public servants seriously, lied to and failed us.

It's not merely "who started it?" but also "who allowed it to continue?" "Who made it normal?" "Who expanded it?" -- this is not mere complacency, it is active COLLABORATION.
The creation of a fascist USA was a two-party project.
#xan talks a lot#but for some reason folks will only give a shit if they can blame a republican somehow#because they dont care about the systems. they care about the optics.#no kings#50501

nova moment i won’t get to for ages but wanna talk about bc it’s really fucking funny- when amy has her bat mizvah she obviously like. invites her friends. and nova is her best friend and bc of this she’s obviously also invited. and she just spends the entire time in awe bc she's got a special interest in religious text while also having never had any knowledge of actual religious practices. after during celebrations she's just BEGGING amy to know how she can come back to the synagogue bc she had the best night of her life that didn't involve murder she's utterly awestruck. like she legitimately Did Not Know religion was like this and she’s stoked. like down to convert on the spot stoked. (amy encourages her to do more research first bc obviously nova doesn’t have the informed ability to make that choice when she barely knows anything about religion except the scripture isolated from any context but she does take nova to synagogue when she’s in station square)
#please inform me if i said anything incorrect I’m not jewish myself#Obviously I’m doing research into it for this but if I’ve missed something or got it wrong just message me#but yeah. i think nova seeing exactly one (1) religious thing and immediately demanding to convert is very funny#she's genuinely in awe she's fully respecting everything to her best knowledge btw she just thinks judaism is that cool#as she grows up she doesn’t really prescribe to any one religious belief system but visits any place of worship that’ll allow her#she believes that they’re real. to clarify. she has no reason not to she’s seen gods with her own optic sensors.#so she’s super respectful the whole time she’s just also not following their beliefs in how to like. live your life.

AI Tool Reproduces Ancient Cuneiform Characters with High Accuracy

ProtoSnap, developed by Cornell and Tel Aviv universities, aligns prototype signs to photographed clay tablets to decode thousands of years of Mesopotamian writing.
Cornell University researchers report that scholars can now use artificial intelligence to “identify and copy over cuneiform characters from photos of tablets,” greatly easing the reading of these intricate scripts.
The new method, called ProtoSnap, effectively “snaps” a skeletal template of a cuneiform sign onto the image of a tablet, aligning the prototype to the strokes actually impressed in the clay.
By fitting each character’s prototype to its real-world variation, the system can produce an accurate copy of any sign and even reproduce entire tablets.
"Cuneiform, like Egyptian hieroglyphs, is one of the oldest known writing systems and contains over 1,000 unique symbols.
Its characters change shape dramatically across different eras, cultures and even individual scribes so that even the same character… looks different across time,” Cornell computer scientist Hadar Averbuch-Elor explains.
This extreme variability has long made automated reading of cuneiform a very challenging problem.
The ProtoSnap technique addresses this by using a generative AI model known as a diffusion model.
It compares each pixel of a photographed tablet character to a reference prototype sign, calculating deep-feature similarities.
Once the correspondences are found, the AI aligns the prototype skeleton to the tablet’s marking and “snaps” it into place so that the template matches the actual strokes.
In effect, the system corrects for differences in writing style or tablet wear by deforming the ideal prototype to fit the real inscription.
Crucially, the corrected (or “snapped”) character images can then train other AI tools.
The researchers used these aligned signs to train optical-character-recognition models that turn tablet photos into machine-readable text.
They found the models trained on ProtoSnap data performed much better than previous approaches at recognizing cuneiform signs, especially the rare ones or those with highly varied forms.
In practical terms, this means the AI can read and copy symbols that earlier methods often missed.
This advance could save scholars enormous amounts of time.
Traditionally, experts painstakingly hand-copy each cuneiform sign on a tablet.
The AI method can automate that process, freeing specialists to focus on interpretation.
It also enables large-scale comparisons of handwriting across time and place, something too laborious to do by hand.
As Tel Aviv University archaeologist Yoram Cohen says, the goal is to “increase the ancient sources available to us by tenfold,” allowing big-data analysis of how ancient societies lived – from their religion and economy to their laws and social life.
The research was led by Hadar Averbuch-Elor of Cornell Tech and carried out jointly with colleagues at Tel Aviv University.
Graduate student Rachel Mikulinsky, a co-first author, will present the work – titled “ProtoSnap: Prototype Alignment for Cuneiform Signs” – at the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) in April.
In all, roughly 500,000 cuneiform tablets are stored in museums worldwide, but only a small fraction have ever been translated and published.
By giving AI a way to automatically interpret the vast trove of tablet images, the ProtoSnap method could unlock centuries of untapped knowledge about the ancient world.

So in rid15 you know how the characters can scan temporary paintjobs they can use for camouflage every now and then right?
I've been thinking about that for the opposite reason of camouflage
I've been thinking about characters having their main paintjob for day to day stuff, and Special paintjobs scanned for when they want to look pretty for a day out or for an important meeting or a holiday or whatever
#transformers#maccadam#also!!!! the camo color palettes change the color of their optics in rid15 too!!#which has interesting implications to how optic color works in that specific series#(say what you want about rid15 but a lot of the opic designs and colors are super pretty <- biased)#transformers rid2015#tf rid15#transformers robots in disguise#thinking about temporary paintjobs that you can ''put on'' and ''take off'' whenever you want#without having to manually paint it again and again#this idea was related to customary ''wedding'' paintjobs but also paintjob ''uniforms''#also!!! disguises#lots of interesting options#also see: scanning too many alternate paintjobs and you have to delete some from your systems to make room#ignore if you want

Q: Are the eyes and optic nerve (aka CN II) part of the central nervous system or peripheral nervous system?
A: CNS
I know we say that the PNS has 12 cranial nerves, but that is false. It has 11 (CNI,CNIII-CNXII). How do we know this? Embryology, my dude (and pathology)
So the eyes come out of the brain around 3 wks after fertilization. They are a diverticulum of the brain (as everything in your body is a diverticulum of something else). The retina and optic nerve come out of the neural ectoderm. The lens comes from the surface ectoderm. If you know embryology, everything in medicine and anatomy will become so much clearer, trust me.
*we are like balloon dogs, just one long tube that got twisted around a bunch*
Anyways, pathologically, we can tell that the eyes are part of the CNS as well. What does Multiple Sclerosis do? It demyelinates the CNS....and the optic nerve. What does Guillian-Barre do? It demyelinates the PNS...but not the optic nerve.
So why do we call the optic nerves...nerves when they should be a tract? (remember that axons of the CNS are called tracts, and in the PNS they are called nerves) Honestly, I have no idea. It was probably some dumbass anatomist...and he probably also thought humans have one heart...

There's a specific nuance to the in/human divide that drives me crazy when executed right, and it's characters who deliberately perceive themselves and behave inhumanly (by their measure of the term) and yet cannot, by any means, escape that they would be considered human by several definitions of the term. It's so hard to articulate without falling into the trap of defining humanity based on falsely universalised experiences, but I know it when I see it.
#Currently relevant example is how Jonah is—by the parameters he gives in MAG 92—very much human.#He still bleeds. He can still die. And his will is still his own—mostly.#But I'm also thinking about Pryce talking about her eyes as her 'optics system' etc and still being a woman who grew up as disabled orphan.#l33chsp34k
